Studio Lights and Flash Photography--
We had time to practice with studio and tabletop lighting sets. Studio lighting experience was not required, members were available to assist others with lighting questions. Very nice learning opportunity.

NEW MEMBERS UNDER SPOTLIGHT
Our spotlight shines on New Members: Michelle Fisler and Don Griffin
Michelle Fisler: "I am excited to be a part of the Woodlands Photography Club. I originally attended Texas A&M University, studying Journalism. During that time in college I dated an Art Director, who brought me to many of the photo shoots he directed in advertising. I immediately took an interest in all aspects of lighting commercial shots.I transferred to Sam Houston State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Photography, with a Minor in Radio, Television & Film. After completing an internship with a commercial photographer in Houston during my last semester at Sam; I began working on call, as an assistant for several advertising photographers. Eventually, I started working for myself on commercial projects in the oil & gas and drilling industries. I also had some fun in California, working on a couple of independent films as the still set photographer (and got some experience doing head shots for starving actors and models)! Outside of that, I like portrait work in both color and black & white, and enjoy art and travel photography. I hope to get caught up with the digital age and am optimistic that I will learn much from everyone in the Club!"
Don Griffin, in his own words: "My photographic background began when I sold photo equipment part-time while in graduate school and then grew as I began to work in other parts of the world as a hospital administrator, first in Saudi Arabia, then in the UAE, and most recently in China. I enjoy "people pictures" and also underwater photography more than anything else. My inspiration to grab a camera comes from the work of photojournalists."
Thank you Michelle and Don, for sharing your background and passion in photography.
