ARMADILLO PHOTO SUPPLY DIGITAL WORKSHOP
-- SATURDAY, February 28 from 9AM to 1 P.M.

Bring some slides, film, digital pictures on CD, or your digital camera, and practice different ways to make a print. No fee but space is limited, Please contact C. Garcia for details.

NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR 2004

We welcome our new Photo Club board members for 2004 Debbie Alamilla (President), Bill Wright (Vice President), Marty Phelix (Treasurer), Gene Foglietta (Activities Chairman), Carolyn Kosclskey (Hospitality) and Roddy Rodriguez (Hospitality), Advisors: Ron Bautsch, Brenda Driscoll, Cecilia García and Roy Varner. They will participate in planning and organizing club activities for this year.

MONTHLY MEETING & PRESENTATION
Monday, March 8 -- 6:30 to 9 P.M.

Byron Willis will give us a hands on presentation on "Professional Set of Lights and Backgounds". . This is a "hand-on" workshop, so bring your cameras - we'll have a model available and Byron's professional lighting equipment.

MINI CONTEST: Bring any two images for the mini-contest.

Rules are now available - so let's get shooting! Time to start working on your pictures for our Spring competition. We need volunteers to help receive and hang entries. Click here to see the competition rules and procedures.

MONTHLY MEETING & PRESENTATION

Richard Underwood, a former NASA Technichal Monitor for all their photographic experiments, will give a presentation on "Photography Journey to the Moon."

MINI CONTEST: Bring any two images for the mini-contest.

SPRING PHOTO SHOW & COMPETITION

CATEGORIES: Action, Nature, People, Open

Entry Submission: Saturday, May 1st. from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the South Branch Library in The Woodlands

Judging: Monday, May 10, just prior the meeting. Awards will be presented during the meeting

Take down and entry pick up: Monday, June 14, during the monthly meeting

SPORTS PHOTO WORKSHOP

Saturday, April 3, from 9 AM to 4 PM.

Sports photo workshop with Mark Rolland. Sat., April 3, 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.
Texas World Speedway, College Station
Workshop will be taught by Mark Rolland, our February guest presenter. Fee is only $50 per person. Subject will be NASCAR racing. We will have the opportunity to take pictures from Sports Cars race in action. Room is limited. For more info contact C. Garcia

EARTH DAY Celebration

Saturday, April 3, from 9 AM to 2 PM.

At the Alden Bridge Village Center. Our club will have a table there, so please sign up to help us greet people (we always get a bunch of new members from this event).

PHOTOGRAPHIC DISPLAY AT PHOTOSOURCE

George Carlson is the featured photographer at Photosource this month. They will be displaying 5 prints from his portfolio called "Working in the Dark". There are examples of table top work. Gerorge's "Wine and Glass" is part of the portfolio. The photos will be on display through the month of March.

MAY ADVENTURE BEING PLANNED

Ken Means is organizing a great field trip to the Paria Plateau in northern Arizona (north of the Grand Canyon) for the second week in May. The group will photograph the famous windcarved rocks there, the dramatic Antelope Canyon, and perhaps Lake Powell from a houseboat, among other adventures. Probably about a 6-day trip total. Anyone interested should contact him directly: kdm@argohouston.com.

HELP US SHOOT OUR ACTIVITIES

We need club members who have digital cameras to volunteer to document our field trips and special events. Our friends John Masters and Nolan Braud have been providing digital images of our meeting presenters and other activities but could use some help.  If you are willing to help, please email to our newsletter editor.
