JANUARY Activities

At our regular club meeting on Jan. 12, Dave McConnachie gave a presentation on "Digital Workflow" Added a new dimension to our photographs! We learned, step by step, how to take a picture, transfer it to the computer, work on it and print it! Excellent job, Dave. We want you back soon with more information.

At the meeting the board officers presented 2005 activities plan. And we heard the Treasurer report.

Special Thanks to Cheryl Stitzlein for the snacks and refreshments she kindly provided for the meeting.

CALL for Logo Contest for the WPC logo. Please turn in your designs. The deadline will be March 14. Membership vote will decide the final design.

LOOKING FOR A GROUP OF PHOTOGRAPHERS:

Dot Mullinax is looking for a group of photographers to make a trip to Africa next Sep-Oct., 2005. The trip is called "Hluhluwe and Kruger", 11 days/8 nights. More info

LOCAL EXHIBITS:

Seeing the work of other artists and photographers can give new insights and ideas for our own work. Check out the following local exhibits:

January 14 - February 6 - 2005 Print Auction Exhibition - HCP will host this exhibit featuring 117 nationally known photographers including some WPC presenters like Peter Brown and Early Hudnall. 2005 Print Auction Tuesday, February 8, 2005, 6 PM at SP Martel Auditorium, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, located at 3511 Yoakum.

February 25 - to April 3 - Authenticity of Memory: HCP presents Alternative Processes in the Main Gallery, guest curated by Clay Harmon. This group exhibition encompasses a variety of alternative photographic techniques.

We need club members who have digital cameras to volunteer to document our field trips and special events. Our friends John Masters and Nolan Braud have been providing digital images of our meeting presenters and other activities but could use some help.  If you are willing to help, please email to our newsletter editor.
