FEBRUARY Activities

At our regular club meeting on Feb. 14, Joel Barr professor of Photography since 1980, who holds Master degrees in Technology and Photography gave a presentation on "Basic Building Blocks on Photography" Added a new dimension to our photographs! Thank you Joel for your information.

On February 19, we had a nice field trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science: Cockrell Butterfly Center. Great camaraderie and beautiful subjects to photograph.

Special Thanks to Nalin Trivedi, Lloyd Parsons and C. García for the snacks and refreshments they kindly provided for the meeting.

CALL for Logo Contest for the WPC logo. Please turn in your designs. The deadline will be March 14. Membership vote will decide the final design.

MONTHLY MEETING & PRESENTATION

SPEAKER: Priscilla Beverly. She has been Wedding and Portrait Photography for 25 years and has been the winner of the prestigious Kodak Gallery Award.

MINI MEMBER SLIDE SHOW: Bring your slides to share with the group. We have 15 minutes to share pictures.

MINI CONTEST: Bring any two images for the mini-contest.

FIELD TRIP:

EARTH DAY

Saturday, April 2, 2005 -- 9 AM to 2 PM

WPC will have a booth on Earth Day at Market Square at Town Center (between Lake Robbins Drive and Lake Woodlands Drive east of HEB Central Market). Bring couple pictures to display, join us to take care of the booth and help WPC to be known in town.

MONTHLY MEETING & PRESENTATION

SPEAKER: Kent Francis, a local astrophotographer, will speak at our General Meeting. He will discuss what kinds of astrophotos people can take with their current equipment and how to get the best results. He will also show what an amateur astronomer can do with equipment that is on the market. (You don't need the Hubble Space Telescope to see lovely colored wispy gases that surround stars!)
