We took down our exhibit on June 13. You can take a look to some of the pictures entered at this Spring 2005 Photo Show and Competition

Don Glentzer, award winning commercial and fine art photographer, gave us a presentation on the art of Editorial & Commercial Photography. We enjoyed the portraits worked to perfection by Don Glentzer. Thank you Don, for sharing your excellent work.

July 4, Town Center Fireworks Extravaganza Photo Opportunity all day long. Enjoy the morning parade at Town Center Red, Hot & Blue Festival and at night (9PM) the Fireworks Extravaganza in The Woodlands. An intense 20 minutes show, shooting off of Anadarko Garage. more info

September 24-25, The 20th Annual Long Horn Rod Run. Over 500 vintage cars from yesteryear will be on display in the charming setting of Old Town Spring.

2) Canon EOS Digital Rebel 6.3 Megapixel, $1,200. This camera was bought because of a job I was taking w/ a newspaper. I ended up not getting it, so it has been waiting for someone to use it. It works great and comes with TWO lenses: The 18mm-35mm and Canon Zoom lens EF, 75-300mm,f4-5.6 with image stabilizer. This is a great camera. Contact Gabriel García for details.

LOCAL EXHIBITS:

Seeing the work of other artists and photographers can give new insights and ideas for our own work. Check out the following local exhibits:

JULY - At Brian of London, Panther Creek in The Woodlands, Photography by Nolan and Janice Braud. This exhibition features 20 photographs worked to perfection from these valuable WPC members.

May 27th - August 21, 2005 - At the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston The Latino Baseball Story: Photographs by José Luis Villegas At the Audrey Jones Beck Building. This exhibition features photographs by Texas-born sports photographer José Luis Villegas.

May 27th. - Sep. 11, 2005 - At the Museum of Fine Arts Photographs by Jim Dow: Baseball Stadiums, 1980—1982. At the Caroline Wiess Law Building. Serious baseball fans share the dream of seeing a game played in each of the 30 stadiums that now exist. Between 1980 and 1982, photographer Jim Dow turned his dream into a photography project.

June 14th. - Oct. 2, 2005 - Sports Photography from the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. At the Caroline Wiess Law Building

July 2 - July 30th, 2005 - De Santos Gallery The Lure of Water Exhibit, work of five women photographers from USA and abroad, Karine Laval, Amparo Garrido, Anne Gabriele, Gina Glover and Martha Casanave. Color, Polaroid transfers and pinhole techniques placed together in this exhibit. Do not miss it! 713 520 1200

July 16 - July 30th, 2005 - Legal Eagles Gallery at 112A Commerce Street in Tomball, TX, 281 357 0060, work of women photographers exhibit. Take a look of the women's art point of view in photography.

Our friends John Masters and Nolan Braud have been providing digital images of our meeting presenters and other activities but could use some help.  If you are willing to help, please email to our newsletter editor.
