MONTHLY MEETING FALL 2005 PHOTO SHOW & COMPETITION PHOTOGRAPHIC CRITIQUE AND AWARDS CEREMONY

Monday, October 10-- 6:30 - 9 P.M.

SPEAKERS: Marisa Sánchez and Byron Willis, after judging our exhibit, will give us a photographic critique.

MINI CONTEST: Bring any two photos for the mini-contest.

PHOTOSHOP WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS by Janice Braud (Just for WPC Members)

October 15 from 9 AM - 2:30 PM

We will have an interactive Photoshop Workshop for beginners at the Library during the morning. Janice Braud will be the instructor. She will include Photoshop Elements 3 and it will be a hands on workshop. More info

FIELD TRIP:

October 22 from 8 AM - 5 PM PM

STEAM RAILROAD We are planning a photo field trip to Palestine on October 22. Palestine is one hour and a half from The Woodlands. We will take the Steam Railroad to Rusk at 11 AM. Enjoy the 1 and a half hour trip on the train, taking pictures and we can take with us an ice cooler with drinks and lunches. Then we will take the train back from Rusk to Palestine at 2 PM and arrive Palestine at around 3:30. If we gather 15-20 people it can be a very fun trip. More info Make reservations State Railroad

October 8 - The Woodlands Car Club Show at Market Street will display all kind of cars from 10 AM to 3 PM. If it rains will be the following week.

October 8-9 - 21st Annual Wings Over Houston Air Show, featuring the USAF Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds will be demonstrating their precision formation flying techniques, tight turns and solo, head-on passes. 11900 Galveston Rd, Houston, TX 77034. More info 281 481 2828

MONTHLY MEETING & CHRISTMAS PARTY

We’re having our Christmas Party and ask all members to bring a dessert, a salad, or a casserole to share. Time to renew your 2006 membership. Membership evaluation of this year events. Bring your fresh ideas to the table though we will have a lot of success with our next year events.

OCTOBER - At Brian of London, Panther Creek in The Woodlands, Photography by Nolan and Janice Braud. This exhibition features 20 photographs of exceptional beauty and technical skill from these valuable WPC members.

OCTOBER - For Several Months -"Window Shopping on Main Street, 1920-1930," uses historic photography from the Story Sloane Collection to give visitors a glimpse of downtown's heyday as a shopping destination.

Until - October 23 - Houston Center for Photography presents "Reading Between the Lines" exhibit. Paranormal narratives and humorous phrases emerge as growing trends in contemporary photography represented by three artists from across the country:
