Photo at the top: Cesar Vargas , won this month mini contest with this excellent image taken at the 2006 Houston Auto Show. Ford “Shelby GR1”. Shot with a Sony R1, handheld. He tried to make the car leap out of the frame, "thinking out of the box". He used PS and Masks to achieve the desired effect. Interesting photograph. March
Activities * Jim Fife was our speaker presenting different perspectives for photography, very informative. He helped us to look outside the box, to take risk and pull down the walls to our creativity. Thank you, Jim, for sharing your ideas with us! * Brenham wild flowers field trip. Around sixteen WPC members enjoyed taking pictures from the wildflowers and from the Rose Emporium. These field trips are a great way to make friends sharing photo techniques. * WPC members, Bob Beaird, B. Driscoll, C. García, F. García, J. Haydel, S. Long, and D. Montoya helped judging 4-H Youth Photo Contest at the Montgomery College. Interesting experience finding out how far the youth can go to make their pictures outstanding. * Special thanks go to Janice Braud, Dianna Montoya and Cecilia García for the snacks and refreshments. |

Late entries cannot be accepted. Monday, April 10 -- 6:30 - 9 P.M. MONTHLY MEETING & AWARDS CEREMONY. Prior our meeting, Joe Baraban and Gerard Vacca will judge our exhibit and during the meeting will give us a photo critique. Saturday, April 8, 2006 -- 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM - EARTH DAY 16th annual Woodlands Earth Day Festival on Saturday, to celebrate Preserving Our Natural Environment. The event at Millennium Forest Dr. and 6101 Research Forest Dr, Woodlands High School, from 9 AM - 2:00 PM. MONTHLY MEETING Monday, May 8 -- 6:30 - 9 P.M. SPEAKER Randy Brewer, the presentation will be a general presentation on CCD Astro Photography. A little on DSLR photography. There is little difference between the two, but Randy is primarily skilled in pure CCD. This will cover how the photos were taken and processed. FIELD
